Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing, or using Treadline (the "App"), made by Leading Ridge Solutions, LLC ("we," "us," "our"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

2. What Treadline is

Treadline is a hiking journal, not a medical, safety, or navigation tool. It helps you record, reflect on, and revisit your hikes using data from Apple Health, your own photos and notes, and optional AI features. It is not a substitute for a dedicated GPS navigation device, official trail maps, or park safety guidance.

3. Accounts

Currently an account is not required for Treadline. In future app releases, that may change. For questions, email support@treadline.app.

4. Subscriptions (Treadline Pro)

Treadline offers optional Pro features (like Tailored Insights, Journal Prompts, and AI Coaching) through an auto-renewing subscription, billed through the App Store.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at purchase and renewal.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your device's App Store account settings.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under their App Store terms, not by us directly.

5. Your content

Your hikes, photos, field notes, and journal entries are yours. By using the App, you're not granting us a license to use your content for anything beyond providing the App to you, except where you explicitly choose to share something (like exporting a Day Canvas card).

6. Health and fitness data

Treadline reads workout, heart rate, elevation, and energy data from Apple Health with your permission, to build your hike records. This data is used to power your journal and is not sold. Treadline is not a medical device and doesn't provide medical advice — talk to a doctor about anything health-related.

7. Acceptable use

Please don't use Treadline to:

• Upload content that's illegal, harmful, or infringes someone else's rights
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Misrepresent trail conditions or safety information in a way that could put other hikers at risk

8. Trail and safety disclaimer

Trail data, weather information, and challenge lists in Treadline are provided for reference and journaling purposes. Always check official park sources for current trail conditions, closures, and safety advisories before you hike. You're responsible for your own safety and preparation on trail.

9. Intellectual property

The Treadline name, logo, and app design are owned by Leading Ridge Solutions, LLC. These terms don't give you any rights to our branding beyond what's needed to use the App normally.

10. Disclaimers

Treadline is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it reliable, but we don't guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly accurate — especially for anything sourced from third parties like Apple Health, weather data, or trail systems.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Leading Ridge Solutions, LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including anything related to hiking safety, trail conditions, or reliance on in-app data.

12. Termination

You can stop using Treadline any time by deleting the App. We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Treadline evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know in the App.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Commonwealth of Virginia, United States of America, without regard to conflict of law principles.
